About us

Housed within The Scott, Bonnar’s dining room is defined by its 18th-century ceiling fresco by Thomas Bonnar, an architectural detail that anchors the space in history while the kitchen looks firmly forward. Whether for an evening meal or a quieter corner with a glass of wine, the setting invites you to settle in.

Head Chef Pier Berretta

From Rome to The Scott

Head Chef Pier Berretta brings the influence of his Roman upbringing to Bonnar’s. Raised in the countryside outside Rome, his understanding of food was shaped by the seasons, the land and the rhythm of long family tables.
That foundation now meets the ingredients of Scotland. Italian in instinct and Scottish in sourcing, the cooking at Bonnar’s brings together two landscapes in dishes designed to be enjoyed, whether you join us for dinner in the dining room, or a snack and a glass of wine at the bar.
Food that feels generous, seasonal and made for gathering.
